Magic Show

We had a magic show in our college recently.The magician was a Grey Wood from Canada.He was quite funny to look at, being tall, chubby and fair.He had a long nose and was wearing a boat-shaped hat.His performance was thrilling.We enjoyed it.For the last item, he wanted a ten dollar bill.As I was seated in the first row, I gave him the note, He took it and clenched his fists.After juggling with it for a while, he opened his hands and out came a hundred dollar bill.He gave me the money.Some of my friends too gave him ten dollar bills and asked him to change it for them.But he refused saying that he had only one hundred dollar bill with him.

Hang Gliding

Hang Gliding is a thrilling air sport where the pilot soars in the air by hanging on to an non powered,wing shaped aircraft.Pilots can stay aloft for hours, climb thousands of feet in altitude and fly long distances, sometimes they can fly cross country too.The basic glider is a rigid frame made of fabric or aluminium.The pilot is strapped to the harness hanging down from the wing frame and lies parallel to the frame while flying.Take off is generally on foot and the pilot launches himself from a hill or a cliff.Landing can be done on foot though some class of gliders require wheels.The pilot controls the speed and direction of the glider by moving her body forward backward and side to side.Thus the craft moves in the direction of the pilot's motion.Hang Gliding is a sport which is very easy to learn.India has some world class Hang Gliding sites, particularly in the lower regions of the Himalayas.The sport can also be enjoyed in Srinagar, Sikkim and Meghalaya with scenic cross country trails in Himachal Pradesh and the Niligiri hills of Tamil Nadu.Except for monsoons, Hang Gliding is possible nearly throughout the year.

Unforgettable Taste

One day my friend and I were munching on roasted peanuts, that I had kept in my trouser pocket.As we walked home from school after a fun filled Friday, I told her how much I enjoyed harassing a boy sitting in front of me by throwing chalk pieces at him.Just then, a strange yet familiar taste filled my mouth.It was then that I realized what I had done.I had kept some pieces of chalk in the same pocket and I had munched some of them along with the peanuts!.My friend could only giggle as she declared that it served me right to play with chalk pieces.

Wonder Skates

When I was a kid, my family shifted to a new flat.I was too shy to introduce myself to the children playing in the compound.I watched them for a while, but I soon got bored.So I got my skates down and began skating alone.Suddenly I fell down and started crying.All of them came to help me.One boy asked me if I was hurt.I told them it was because they didn't include me in their game and I fell down.They all laughed and I soon became a part of their group.They still remind me of this incident years down the line.
